99 Gawler Place, Adelaide

Objective / Goals

With a business continuity mindset, the facilities management of this 14-storey inner-city site made the decision to modify their existing generator and fuel tank, to future-proof back-up power.

Problem

  • An existing 1100KVA – standby CAT generator system would benefit from an overhaul and recommission while still on site
  • The project had a 3-week, onsite timeframe
  • To support future usage, it was desirable to incorporate a digital uplift into the existing generator back-up system

Solution

  • Supplied and installed a new control system
  • Mounted, reinstalled and cleaned the fuel transfer line transferring from the basement level to 2 other locations in the building
  • Replaced the day tank and faulty fuel pump system
  • Installed a brand-new polish system for the existing fuel tank

Outcome

  • The on-site component of the project was completed within a strict 3-week timeframe
  • The existing power system was digitised, to align with the site’s technology uplift activities
  • An enhanced back-up power system with increased safety, reliability and durability
